The Incas built a trail up the side of the Huayna Picchu and built temples and terraces on its top. The peak of Huayna Picchu is about 2,720 meters (8,920 ft ) above sea level, or about 360 meters ( 1,180 ft ) higher than Machu Picchu. According to local guides, the top of the mountain was the residence for the high priest and thelocal virgins.
Machu Picchu Every morning before sunrise, the high priest with a small group would walk to Machu Picchu to signal the coming of the new day. The Temple of the Moon , one of the three major temples in the Machu Picchu area, is nestled on the side of the mountain and is situated at an elevation lower than Machu Picchu. Adjacent to the Temple of the Moon is the Great Cavern, another sacred temple with fine masonry. The other major local temples in Machu Picchu are the Temple of the Condor, Temple of Three Windows, Principal Temple,"Unfinished Temple", and the Temple of the Sun, also called the Torreon. Then we'll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, The Sacred Sun Dial the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds.
The Sun Gates of Machu Picchu boast a picture - perfect vantage point overlooking Peru'smost famous ruins. Tourists flock to this outcrop high in the Andes Mountains to enjoy the same view featured on virtually every postcard depicting the Machu Picchu citadel. Also known as Inti Punku, the Sun Gates consist of two stones perched at a narrow passage in the crevice of the mountain just above Machu Picchu. The sun shines brilliantly through this portal each day when it rises - hence the name.

In addition to the unique and abundant vegetation that make this natural environment such a special visit. This visit takes place in the Rancho Primicias, surroundings where, in addition to observing the wonderful turtles, you can also enter some volcanic lava tubes.
- Santa Cruz Highlands " Twin Craters" Los Gemelos (or the Twin Craters) are not, in fact, craters - although no less impressive for it! These two large pits were actually caused by the collapse of empty magma chambers after a volcanic uprising. They are easy to access from the Puerto Ayora to Baltra road. There is a lovely walking trail here that leads up to and then around the rim of both craters. The hike takes you through the wonderful Scalesia Forest, which is full of bird life. It's likely you will see Galapagos Doves, Darwin's Finches, the stunning Vermilion Flycatcher, as well as short-eared owls and many other species.
As you climb up to the rim of the craters you are rewarded with a breathtaking view over the Scalesia canopy, it's lush green a real contrast to the arid vegetation on much of the other Galapagos Islands you can visit. Overnight in Santa Cruz island " Puerto Ayora".

After a box lunch transfer to Concha Perla, an ideal place for water sports, from swimming to snorkeling, as well as admiring the abundant fauna that is collected in the well-sheltered bosom of its bay, regularly frequented by sea lions and penguins. Return to the hotel and overnight in Isabela island.

These wonderful geological concretions were formed millions of years ago, when several lava flows descended the sides of Isla Isabela, until reaching the coast. Upon contact with the sea, the surface layer of magma solidified, while the liquid lava moved away into the sea. At the end of the eruption, there were hollow structures that, following the collapse of parts of their walls, allowed the water to enter and create authentic tunnels, a paradise for snorkelers. Participants will discover lush underwater wildlife including sharks, sea lions, lobsters, penguins, gannets and many other endemic Galapagos species. A snack will be served on board the boat.
